Sometimes a PDF is the wrong shape for the job. You want to drop a page into a slide deck, post it as an image, or upload it somewhere that only accepts pictures. Turning each page into a JPG or PNG solves it, and it takes seconds.
JPG or PNG?
For a page that's mostly photos or colour, JPG gives you a small file. For a page with sharp text, lines, or diagrams — where you don't want any fuzziness around the edges — PNG keeps everything crisp, at the cost of a larger file. When in doubt for a text page, choose PNG.
How to convert
- Open the PDF to Images tool and drop in your PDF.
- Choose JPG or PNG.
- Download the pages as images — one image per page.
One thing to remember: once a page is an image, its text is no longer selectable or searchable. That's fine for a slide, but if you need the words back later, keep the original PDF too.
