Everyday consequences
This law explains a lot of familiar behaviour. Heat a sealed gas and its pressure rises, which is why an aerosol can warns against fire and a car tyre reads higher pressure after a long drive. Squeeze a gas into less volume and its pressure climbs. Temperature here must be measured on the absolute Kelvin scale, a common stumbling point, since the relationship only works from absolute zero.
